The Perfect Day: Suggestions From Our Readers

I know what my perfect day in Harriman State Park is:

  1. Wake up in Stone Memorial lean-to, on Horse Stable Mountain.  Make a breakfast of eggs cooked in orange peels, toast.
  2. Pack up camp; head down the Suffern-Bear Mountain trail to Conklin’s Crossing (lucky Conklin….)
  3. Take a dip in Pine Meadow lake near the ruin;
  4. Laze around near Lake Wanoksink, before heading home.

…but what’s yours? And do you know a great place to eat near Harriman, after camping?  (I’m still looking!)

Let me know, and if it’s okay, I’ll list it here.

Thank you kindly!
